NOTE: There are many tango lovers – and I belong to that group – who consider this wonderful tango as one of the most beautiful songs composed in the 1930s in Europe. Oskar  Strock was a Latvijan composer who wrote quite a few songs which became international hits in the 1930s, including “Sleep, My Poor Heart” made famous by the Tango Master from Russia, Piotr Leszczenko or the Black Eyes (aka: Dark Eyes) also sung by Leszczenko as well as by various singers in most of the European countries in the 1930s (see the orchestral version of it (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJcM-2Tz8dU  ).

Today, tango “Śpij moje serce” is performed by the best possible duet of tango-performers in Poland of the 1930s: Adam Aston (who recorded for Columbia under a pseudonym Adam Wiński) and the most distinguished Polish prewar dance orchestra led by Henryk Gold.
