Konnichi wa! If you don't follow me on social media, I've been away in Japan for the past couple of weeks... (check out my Instagram for some travel pics and stories!) A little while ago I sat down at my piano, pressed the record button and made up this little tune... The track you're hearing is the very first take. I have contemplated re writing it and making it a bit more cohesive and tidy but you may have guessed by now that I'm kinda lazy... Since I recorded it, I just named it "Instrumental 1" as I couldn't come up with a good enough name for it that I felt reflected its intention... and just today I listened to it again and it reminded me of strolling through the streets in Japan, whether in the bustling Tokyo, quaint Takayama, or historical Kyoto... I was lucky enough to witness the amazing cherry blossom season while I was there and this piece reminded me of that feeling I got seeing Japan's beauty in the springtime.
