Mario Tennis knows that everyone is longing for character customization so now they deliver! By having us play crazy weird challenges and slowly unlocking things for each(?) character. Yeah. Well, at least it's something!

Anyway, this time you've got to play online with other people in SWING mode (gah!) to battle a bunch'a boos that are innocently enjoying their time at home when a bunch of mooks with racquets suddenly start pelting them with balls!

The joiks!

We generally take turns pelting balls at the opposition getting coins for every boo taking down with multipliers in play for getting many in one go! The yellow glowing boos will give you a giant ball for your next shot and hitting a high flying bright-boo will grant you a flashlight you can use to stun boos to increase coin count for your teammates.

If you knock out all the boos in a wave a large coin bonus is awarded! If you're too slow, the boos will move in and steal some coins!

Fill up the Frenzy Meter and King Boo will appear to welcome you to his home! The correct response to such niceties is to PELT THE SUCKER WITH BALLS! Bonus coins and a frozen time limit for the duration of the haunting is your reward while shooting at him!

There are three rounds with needed coin amounts to proceed to the next. Your biggest foe will be getting used to the swing controls, but fortunately you don't have to worry about the different kinds of spins or anything. Well, lobbing can be important. Mostly you're going to decide to do a back hand or uh, regular hand shot along with timing to affect the direction of your shot. It's not entirely responsive sometimes so you might start charging when you're not ready among many other problems, but it seems the mode tries to "help" you so your shots more often than not will find a mark.

At the very least, it's given me an interest to take a look at swing mode some time!
