The last gun (and lighting system) that I wanted to test in the Snow Twister - a snowy, desert run & gun course featuring myself and two buddies - is my Remington 870 12 gauge shotgun with my Fenix LD10 flashlight attached. The shotgun is a devastating, and fairly versatile weapon. It is currently the only long-gun I own that is suitable for real defensive work, and as I'm a big believer in mastering the guns, and systems you have, I make an effort to take this gun out every chance I get. A suitable lighting rig for my 870 has been eluding me for some time, but it appears that the Fenix LD10 - in my configuration - is going to work just fine. There are still some things I don't like about the LD10 as a dedicated weapon light - it's multi-mode, it's a less-standard size for weapon mounting, and... I'd rather have it with my camping gear. However, I need to use what I have, so the LD10 is staying on the gun for the time being.

Encountering face numbing temperatures, and treacherous, rocky, snow-covered terrain, I ventured out with two of Youtube's finest - SnowLobo95 (with Lady Lobo) & Cr0cket20, for a full day of shooting and camaraderie. Lots of training and data-collecting goals were set for the day, but many were forgotten as we took full advantage of the real benefits of an outing like this - friendship and fun
