We begin on a court in Downtown LA where last night the Lakers were heading into the re-match heard world wide, with a  9-5 record, They were hoping to back to their winning walk after having their five-game winning streak snapped Saturday night against the Clippers. The team celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day by hosting the Dallas Mavericks. Many were excited to see the big pay pack after last season the Mavs swept the Lakers in the playoffs...but that was not the case, last season champs came saw and conquered...Once Again! But this time a 6'10 Forward by the name of LO was not wearing the coveted Purple and Gold. And even though Larmar Odom was playing opposite of some of great friends and has struggled so far in his new home, many fans were still excited and interested to see how he and the city would react. But LO came only for business, He was asked prior to the game how he felt to be back and only had this to say....That that is exactly what they did...WIN! 
(Even though the staples center was full of emotion w/the return of LO, Lakers still managed to take care of business with a win against the Dallas Mavericks. The lakers have reached to double digit numbers in wins bringing their record to 10-5.)

Enough shameless plugging ...Now a team that has retired 7 players jerseys, 22 division titles, 32 Conference titles, and 17 championships does not look back only...toward the future. The are taking on the Miami Thursday on their court before heading to Orlando to play the Magic on Friday. They have lost 4 out of 5 of there Away game so they need to play hard and remain focused to get the job done. 
And Lastly  fourteen games into the season Kobe Bryant continues to prove the critiques wrong...Has been named Western Conference Player of the Week...No its not Dejavu. Kobe has won this award for the second week in a row! And as I reported last week He once again helped Lead the Lakers to a 3-1 Record but this time averaged almost 44 point a game. I wonder if he can get it one more time next week....Would that make it a Turkey? Or do bowling references not carry over to Basketball.
