(20 Jun 1985) GS CAS COLOMBIA: Bogota has been brought to a standstill by a
26068516 general strike in protest at the economic and social policies
1"VT+BVU of President Betancur's government. Protestors threw nails
on the roads to stop people using private cars. Power pylons
were knocked down by explosions and parts of the city were
blacked out. There were some arrests, and police claimed to
have found a cache of arms.
