What are the employer eligibility criteria for the NSNP Family Business Worker stream?

To be eligible to support a Family Business Worker applicant for the Nova Scotia Nominee Program, an employer needs to be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who has lived in the province for at least two years. The employer needs to own at least one third of a financially viable business that has permanent establishment in the province, as defined by the Federal Income Tax Act, and that has been operating under the current management for at least two years. The employer needs to be financially self-supporting, and he or she must have not received social or employment assistance from the Government of Nova Scotia or of Canada within the last two years. The employer also needs to be prepared to offer to the applicant a full time permanent job, preferably in a NOC level 0, A or B occupation, or, depending on the state of the local labour marker, a NOC level C occupation.
