MIAMISBURG -- The guys who plow the parking lots of your favorite restaurant or grocery store have also been hit hard by the salt shortage.

If we would get storms like we normally would in Ohio with only an inch or two every week, we'd be fine. But since it's so frequent and the temperatures are so unbareably cold, that's why we have to use more salt, said Mark Blair of Blair's Landscaping and Snow Removal.

Blair has already spread so much salt on customer parking lots this year, he's almost out.

Supply and demand will dictate whether we get another load of salt or not. I'm crossing my fingers, he said.

You can't plan for this. It's a little more than what we're used to, said Melanie Johnson of Centerville.

I'm hoping it's not going to snow as much as they say it's going to in the next few weeks. If it does we're going to have to get in touch with our customers and let them know we won't be able to salt as much as normal or not salt at all, Blair said.

Blair is hoping it won't get to that point, but he probably won't know until after the next round of snow blows through
