Dozens of Palestinians protested against the Greek Orthodox patriarch of Jerusalem on Saturday as he arrived to celebrate Orthodox Christmas. Protesters scuffled with police as Patriarch Theophilos the Third made his way towards the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, revered as the birthplace of Jesus Christ. Palestinians have been demanding the patriarch's resignation for allegedly selling church land to Israeli settlement groups in East Jerusalem.
