For awhile now (at least a year or two), it has been a moderately hard thing to see a daylight southbound auto rack train on the River Line, as they are usually nocturnal, if they are running at all (there are only two trains; Q271, which is the northbound, and Q268, which is the southbound). Today, it is the exact opposite. It is 11:55AM and we are in Newburgh at the NYC Yard at CP55, where we see CSX Train Q268, a southbound auto rack train to Doremus/Oak Island in Newark. Today's consist is ex-B&O GP40-2 6223, C40-8W 7812, and ex-B&O GP40-2 6154 all running elephant style with a healthy 74 car loaded auto rack train. Enjoy the rarity of a daylight unit auto rack train with cool standard cab power. If you have any questions about the video, feel free to message me. Comments are welcome. The video was taken on August 28th, 2009.
