Last week when Dr. Novick was in Basra he was accompanied by a multi-car entourage complete with a rear-mounted machine gun. Noor's father and mother did not have that sort of protection when they drove those trecherous roads in search of a remedy for their daughter's broken heart. Noor had surgery yesterday and was discharged from the ICU today. She is only days away from returning home with a real chance at life; a chance that almost passed her by. Thanks for going to work everyday - wherever you are in the world - and giving a portion of it to the children of Iraq.
