On November 6, 2012 Colorado voted to legalize recreational marijuana. Since then, a lot of money has been spent on the green stuff, but where does all the marijuana tax money go? There are two state taxes on retail marijuana in Colorado. A 15% excise tax that wholesale marijuana buyers pay and a 15% sales tax that consumers pay on retail marijuana.
