This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Museums contain information intrinsically linked to the known, which means the past. But what would a museum of what is not yet known look like? How would we be different if the unknown attracted rather than repelled us? Jon Bonfiglio’s talk is a tour through how saying yes can become catching and lead to all manner of incredible and unexpected opportunities (and peril!). It uses notions of museums/memory and counterpoints with the unknown to create new spaces full of possibility, inviting us all to step inside.

Jonathan Bonfiglio is a writer, producer and explorer. He is also director of The Clipperton Project, an international interdisciplinary organization which uses notions of exploration to engage, energize and empower people all over the world. He has worked on numerous cultural projects internationally, often in areas of conflict, and has been described as being “one of the most groundbreaking producers of his generation” (La Jornada – Mexico) and “the thinking man’s playwright” (Richmond Times – England).

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
