A major issue at this year's ASEAN cooperation ministers' meeting was dealing with the challenges posed by protectionism. Speaking at the headquarters of the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, China's ambassador to the bloc said he hoped that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership would be concluded at an early date.
