For the final time as president of the University of Oregon, Dave Frohnmayer delivered the commencement address to more than 4,000 students during the main graduation ceremony at the University of Oregon on Saturday, June 13.

As he has done for the past 15 years, Frohnmayer will preside over the university-wide exercise to confer 4,293 degrees to 4,065 students who are eligible to participate in the ceremony.

In addition to his role as featured speaker, Frohnmayer presented the universitys 2009 Distinguished Service Awards and Presidential Medals. He will retire as president on June 30.

In addition to the main commencement on June 13, each school or college, including individual College of Arts and Sciences departments, will hold exercises at various campus locations beginning Saturday, June 6. At the department ceremonies, graduate names are called and each person walks across the stage. Only doctoral candidates are recognized individually at the main ceremony.
