The vote on whether to switch seven schools from the Kansas City School District to Independence is only six days away, and one of the questions surrounding the issue is whether it will affect taxes. In Missouri, the school tax rate is a large part of the property tax bill. Proponents of the school switch said the move will lower Independence school taxes.
