This is the first leg of Jose Manuel Barroso's speech at the European Parliament in Srasbourg in which he tries to convince MEPs to vote in favor of his second term as president of the European Commission, the EU's executive.  

The vote is due to take place on Wednesday - today - at lunchtime.
