Plot:Amanda Waller sends Task Force X, consisting of Deadshot, Count Vertigo, Punch and Jewelee and Black Manta to assassinate Tobias Whale for double crossing her. Despite the team successfully completing their job, Vertigo and Jewelee double cross them by attacking Deadshot and with Jewelee killing Punch. They reveal to Deadshot that they have been working together since their time in jail. Unknown to them, Waller overhears the conversation via a mic in Deadshot's ear communicator since Waller had already foreseen a traitor in the team. So she detonates the bomb in Vertigo's neck and Deadshot kills Jewelee before Waller gets to detonate hers.

Sometime later, Waller, who was diagnosed with terminal illness, reassembles Task Force X, which consists of Deadshot (as team leader), Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Copperhead, Killer Frost and Bronze Tiger. Their mission is to find Maxum Steel, and retrieve a mystical card called "Get Out of Hell Free" by any means. However, upon finding him in a strip club, they end up fighting Professor Zoom, Silver Banshee and Blockbuster, who are after Steel for the same reason. Luckily, they manage to take Steel and escape via a caravan (provided by Waller). It turns out that Steel was formerly Doctor Fate and explain that the card they are searching for allows the user to bypass Hell and access directly to Heaven but could only use once. Unfortunately, the card was stolen by Scandal Savage and Knockout due to his misbehavior and lack of responsibility, causing him to be kicked out by Nabu. Waller briefs to them that it must be the work of Vandal Savage and tells the team to go after him. As for Steel, he is left with his undies and blanket the following day and caught by Zoom's group when Steel was going to be arrested for indecent exposure by a cop.
