IMF Chief Says World Economy Will Likely Shrink This Year

Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, said on Tuesday that the world economy is likely to shrink this year, and a recent World Bank survey backs that up. In Washington, the head of the Federal Reserve urged Congress to pass comprehensive financial reform to prevent any future global crises. The economy is making news a month before the G-20 summit, when officials from the world's leading developed and emerging economies meet in London.
