I use a 12"x24"x2" black pre-primed canvas. I have (as usual) leftover paint. It is contained in a silicon "pinch cup" to which I add in new layers of colors to pour yet again a ring pour. I tip the first ring and spread it as far as I can go. Next, I add another ring pour add some solid color to its center and then tip until I decide to add 3 smaller rings and another elsewhere. I tip and add more paint from bottles, use a small silicone spatula to swipe, leed, move paint and fill areas. I scoop paint from the mixed colors container, fill in areas make marks with its flat edge and dribble ribbons adding details to the composition before my final big tip unifying the central design and I am satisfied I like what I have created.
My "pouring" mixture or "recipe" is simple- 10-20% Golden Gac 800 goes into 80 or 90% color to start the mixing process. Mix thoroughly. I add Floetrol,( minimum)enough to double the volume. You could use a more expensive alternative. I like Deco Art pouring medium. If you use squeeze bottles as I do, add a marble and shake your paints every time before you use them. All my acrylic paints are mixed in advance and contained and stored in squeeze bottles. I add no silicon. To create the pearlescent effects seen in most of my artworks I use "Golden's" Iridescent pearl "Fine" added to colors. By "eye " until I am pleased with what I see.
Every day I learn new things. I will never stop experimenting and I am happy to share what I discover with you. To see finished wet and dry versions of all my Youtube demonstration artworks for sale visit my Expressionist Art Studio Gallery Fb albums linked below
