i assembled a home made forge and got a peace of steel to hammer on. (black smith shop on a dime basicly) and started messing around a bit. my first poject i wanted to make a hatchet out of re-bar i wanted to fold it over like a lollypop and turn one side into the hatchet blade but after a few curls it dosent want to curl anymore and trying to flatten the side i want to use for the blade isnt working out. is my fire not hot enugh? i got a brake rotor forge assmebled and for fule im useing charcoal. i was lucky to get it to an orange color perioidicly and if this isnt best choice to use to smith with low temps? what is? and where can i find it?

PS please forgive the sound qulaty. the mic on my camra blows.. im looking to get an extreal mic for it
