Choreographing Exhibitions is the second in this year's series of performance forums designed to encourage debates around models of archiving performance, presentation formats, and the relationships between lens-based media and live art. This forum raises the following questions: In what ways can the sensorial modes associated with performance—touch, moving images, sound—be organizing principles for exhibition-making across media? Does performance's relationship to spectatorship reshape the traditional tools of exhibition display, including the grammars of juxtaposition and comparison? Are there different strategies and challenges for historicization that arise from re-staging work versus reinstalling work?
