AKAI made in Japan not China! *wink* - Just gave the heads a good clean on my 34 year old AKAI GXR-82D 8 Tack Stereo Player/Recorder using Isopropyl Alcohol swabs, done the erase head and pinch roller also. Now for the result, Here is some 1988-1990 Radio One FM Jingles in crisp clear CD Quality (for me listening) mono mic for you ;-) playing from a brand new BASF Cart. This was the way it was back then, we didn't have iPhones or iPods or fancy computers!..... It was all hardware driven and built like a tank to last forever :-) - I am using my iPhone micro-hi-fi amplifier on the line output. To be really honest I prefer studio equipment the way it used to be as in this video, computer compressed audio is just not as good and you don't get the FEEL as in actually using the REAL equipment!. Using computers to run studios nowadays it's easy and takes up less time and space and any snotty nosed idiot with a computer can be a 'wannabe bedroom DJ'..Well.. up to the point where they are required to talk and add lib ..then.. they fail very badly!...But It's like having sex in a virtual world.... if you get my point...Just not as good.
