(3 Dec 1964) The girls of Transport Command's Packing Unit aren't content just to pack the parachutes. Many of them go through a complete course of ground training and eventually jump alongside the paratroops themselves. We went up with some of the girls who were going to make their first descents from a tethered balloon. The Parachute Packing Unit is the only one of its kind in the RAF and these WRACS look after the preparation of around six hundred parachutes a day.
