A  frontal system will begin
approaching California. This will give way to precipitation winding down
across the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies while spreading into
central California and southern California. As this system moves inland
Thursday morning, widespread precipitation will continue for California
and spread into parts of the central Great Basin and central Rockies.  Furthermore, heavy snow will impact the Sierra Nevada--with
over 2 feet of total snow accumulation possible. Most of this snowfall
will occur between Wednesday evening through late Thursday night. High
temperatures will begin to slowly rebound on Wednesday for the central
U.S. while remaining quite chilly for the Southeast. The western U.S.,
High Plains and the southern Plains will remain near or above average
through the short term.
