It articulates in any direction needed, whether you need it to extend beyond the base or not, and it doesn't take up the USB port you use to power it, as it has its own port so you can charge your device at the same time. It has both warm white and cool white LEDs and allows you to pick between them to give you the best color light for the task at hand. Also has stepless dimming control so you can alter the brightness of the light between minimum and maximum brightness or anywhere you would like in between.
