Salmon Run is the most completely newest thing to ever grace Splatoon 2. Even its atmosphere is unique even when compared to fighting Octarians in Hero Mode.

In Salmon Run, your Inkling signs up at as a part-time work at Grizzco Industries, ran by your boss, Mr. Grizz, himself. Your main job is to work with your co-workers to capture and harvest Golden Eggs from freakish fish monsters known as the Salmonids.

But before you can actually do that wholesale, Mr. Grizz is merciful enough to teach you how this mode works.

You and 3 more Inkling co-workers must team up in the Salmon Grounds in order to harvest eggs from the Salmonids. Specifically, you have to defeat Boss Salmonids and occasionally Golden Salmonids in order to get their Golden Eggs and return them to the basket Grizz set up. Each Boss Salmonid requires to very specific strategies to be beaten.

If you get killed... I mean splatted by the Salmonid, you'll hide in a lifesaver. One of your co-workers have to use their ink to revive you.

Harvesting Golden Eggs is done in 3 waves, each of them with a time limit and a quota of Golden Eggs you need to reach. If you don't reach that quota in time, or if your whole team is wiped out, Game Over!

To complete your Salmon Run shift, you must survive against the Salmonids and hit the Golden Egg quota for all 3 waves!

There's more to explain than this, but I'll say them out as they come in my actual session. This training session has two tutorials before you can move on to the main course.
