Parents were asked not to prevent their girls from interacting with boys but to show them how to deal with them. They were also urged to identify and nurture children’s talents for their future benefit. The remarks were made yesterday by the outgoing director Lukenya Academy, Emma Murungi who is also a counsellor and a motivational speaker. She was speaking at Nairobi’s St Michael School in Mukuru slum in South B during the international day of the girl-child celebrations where she graced the function organized by the Women’s Advancement, Leadership and Success (WALS) Mrs Murungi said young girls should be shown and taught how to face the harsh world challenges with more understanding in order to avoid giving up in life.
