Khiva (Хива in Uzbek/Russian) is located in western Uzbekistan in the Xorazm Province. Formerly a capital of the Khanate of Khiva, Khiva is the first heritage site to be inscribed in the World Heritage List. Khiva held an important position along the Great Silk Road as a slave trading post. The old town of Khiva has more than 50 historical monuments and 250 old houses, dating back to the 18th or 19th centuries and makes a very interesting stroll. There are many museums and souvenir shops (bargain hard!) as well. Thank you and do SUBSCRIBE!
