8 heavily armed occupation soldiers entered the Palestinian are of al Khalil / Hebron. They slowly wandered through the streets pointing their weapons, disrupting traffic and intimidating the local people. They set off stun grenades, fired tear gas into the street. Before leaving they stopped a car and assaulted and searched the occupants. They also body searched some passers-by against a building. Their actions were monitored by international activists for the entire hour of the incursion. There was no provocation or reason for their intrusion or any justification for blocking the streets and searches. Their use of force, tear gas and stun grenades in a civilian area was both unacceptable and excessive compared to the few stones thrown from a distance by local youths in protest of the invasion of their neighborhood.
