Indian Railways has started testing the first engineless "train 18" built in the country. This semi-high-speed train train has been started in Chennai's Integral Coach Factory (ICF). This train like Metro is technically a milestone for Indian Railways. This train will replace Shatabdi Express. The train, which runs at a speed of 160 km per hour, could take the place of the fastest speed Shatabdi express in the next year in January, the Delhi-Bhopal rail route.
An official of the ICF said that the self operating system is currently being tested by adding four coaches together. Four coaches join together to form a unit. Based on the results of the tests of this unit, necessary modifications will be made to the other units of every four coaches in the next few days. When we will be satisfied with the performance of the train then the train set will be fully integrated.
Train has already been discussed in advance of the launch. This will be the first world-class train of Indian Railways. According to ICF, the cost incurred in making it is half of the cost of importing the train. The 16-coach train will be fully air conditioned.

Separate from traditional Indian trains run by the locomotive engine, this train will run with self-operation techniques. Like the metro, there will be a driving cabin on both ends of this train. This technique will also save time to turn the train and return it. The self-operating system used in the train will also be able to speed and reduce the speed immediately, which will reduce the time required to travel. Travelers in state-of-the-art boogies will not feel shock during the journey.
