Noura lives in Al Fawwar refugee camp south of the West Bank city of Hebron. Two of her youngest sons have been detained by Israeli forces five times. The first time her son was arrested, at age 15, she thought he would be killed. “Now, imagine living with that fear each day, that one of your children will be taken away from you,” she says.

Palestinians living in the West Bank experience high levels of direct and indirect violence in their daily lives that have serious consequences for their mental health. This video is part of “Occupied Minds,” a traveling multimedia exhibition produced by Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) featuring the work of Magnum photographer Moises Saman. The exhibition opened in Amman, Jordan, on World Mental Health Day, October 10.
