Thanks for coming over.  This is Amodeus and today I want to talk about breaking Steel Widow since update 3.  This is all about the combination of 3 things:

Ignore defense damage, lower defense, and legendary shreds defense.  I am very fortunate to have Abigail and over laundry day as I was testing new team compositions out I put this team together.  The team has a very familiar team composition which is double DPS, Healer, CDR, Stripper.  

Alya the Fire Bladmaster is here for Wave Clearing and is totally replaceable with your dps of choice, but since one of her skills ignores defense I thought she fit perfectly as she can contribute on the Boss too.

Manas the Water Time Keeper (Sharma would be better, but still on the wish list).  Skill Cool Down Reduction is ALWAYS good to have.  Time Keepers have this on their First Skill and as synergy trait and that is why they are usually a must have, but WAIT there’s more…Water time keepers also have the block buff debuff.  In Steel Widow this stops the immunity buff from ever getting put on and that is critical for a smooth run.  Personally I think this is the most underrated debuff for all the Steel Widow content.  

Now, we get into where this team starts to change.  Rather than huge nukers like candy munchkins or OGD like snake ladies  we are going with Washi for his ignore % defense damage.  He is also great because he adds mark and lowers defense too debuffs too.

Of course, I am using Xenia here for heal, CDR, Strip, and Lower Defense.  I see a lot of value to switching over to Cassandra for her additional ATK Buff, but Xenia is built better for now.

Finally, Abigail the fire siege tower and her Legendary Shreds Defense debuff round out this team.  

As pointed out by the developers in the Update 3 livestream Lower defense reduces defense by 70% and can be combined with Legendary Shreds Defense for unto an additional 25%.  This means you are only dealing with 5% of the defense of the raid boss and you are ignored a quarter of that too.

If we watch a few runs you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about.

Our goal from this team is to get Mark, Buff Block, Lower Defense and Shred defense on asap.
