I got all of the directions on Johny Chung's Website ( http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/steadycam/ ).

I read the note that in order to use larger cameras, a longer bottom bar must be used with a shorter top bar.

My Bottom rod is 18", and the top rod is 6". It worked pretty perfectly for the XL1.

It gets heavy after a while, but who doesn't love a good workout?

Also, I took advantage of Johny's design for supporting larger camera's.

Hope this helps!
