In the year after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, UT Architecture Professor Mark Schimmenti was part of at team that created an plan to rebuild two districts in the city. The plan helped kick start the flow of federal money and has since been absorbed into new plans for reviving the neighborhoods. On the 5-year anniversary of the storm, Schimmenti reflects on his work and what he saw in Louisiana.
