We finished spreading topsoil and seeding the berm surrounding the extension of our fishing pond. The unusually warm weather should help the grass grow quickly and become established before the first frost of the season. However, watering the new grass is now a challenge because of a drought that has lasted over two weeks. The nearby stream, which has been a reliable source of water is barely flowing. We also removed the overgrown invasive Japanese Stiltgrass that is taking over the wetland vegetation growing on the banks of our goldfish ponds, and just about everywhere else in the meadows and woods. I HATE THIS WEED!!! At least, it is easy to remove by pulling or raking. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, maintaining ponds is a LOT OF WORK! By the way, I hope you don't find this video boring to watch. If you do, let me know.
