Welcome to a Final Cut Pro X lesson from Pixel Film Studios.
In this lesson, we will show you how to set keyframes on a parameter in FCPX.

Keyframes are used to create smooth animations by setting a start and end value on a setting.

First, place the playhead in the timeline at the front of your clip.
Then, select the clip.

Choose the parameter in the Inspector window that you wish to keyframe.

Click on the white keyframe icon to the right of the control so that it turns orange.

This parameter is now associated to this value at this point in time.
Move the playhead down the timeline a little ways, and change the value of the value of the control.

Since the setting has been changed, FCPX will automatically set another keyframe.

Now when you playback the clip, this parameter will be animated between these two points.

You can apply keyframes to any parameter in the Inspector window that has the diamond shape next to it including Pixel Film Studios plugin parameters.
