As an update, the demonstrations did cool down enough that we could get out of the port a little ways (and thus play some frisbee!). It's really interesting to hear from our local workers what is going on in Conakry, and how the opposition parties are losing support simply because they're calling for demonstrations both too often, and for no real reason. It's like state politics back home as well, with the one populous district dictating legislation to the rest of the country. Sorry it took so long to get this up - it's not as easy as it is back home to do this. If you want to know more about the organization (Mercy Ships) be sure to head over to http://mercyships.org I'll be posting videos of friends who work here as the weeks progress and I get them done (probably back home). As well as a couple random videos about my trip.
