We spent a week in the Dominican Republic, visiting a friend. I came away with an hour and a half of footage and spent the entire summer editing it down to my favorite shots. This includes the view from the bus ride to Las Terrenas, two and a half hours away. Then we went back to Santo Domingo (passing the lovely beach Sanchez and some turkey vultures), where our friend lives. We saw some ruins, went dancing and I loved El Conde, which is where many artists sell their work. We also took a train ride through the botanical gardens (the turtles were too cute) with dozens of schoolchildren who chanted 'Otra Vez!' Roughly translated, it means 'Once again!'
