Persona doesn't need to be strong, mine has 50% defense and 80k HP, watch until the end to see Persona stats. His 3rd skill can help debuff the boss so that boss remained stunned. I accidentally let my Krut die by wolves, XD

You can replace Persona with any other hero obviously by using a Persona mercenary instead, make sure that the hero has some sort of debuff skills - Ian, Lucas, Chris, Deborah are some examples.
