(All information is at the end of the video) Basically, I wanted to show how I feel about this relationship. There is so much potential for something really special but Erik and Charles can't seem to get it. They have this reaction to desperately cling to each other and it's all because they both know that if one of them leaves, there will be no turning back and everything would be lost. The moment Erik puts on that helmet, he cuts that link between him and Charles. I wanted to focus the end on Erik since the whole video is sort of through Charles' eyes. Let me just say that I always thought the end of the song went "I'm not broken" so when I discovered he actually sang "I know I broke it" I almost burst into tears at how accurate those five words were for them. The entire video is placed from Charles' point of view, begging Erik to not do this to him, to let it go and Erik's response is the end of the video, replying back that he knows he fucked up and he broke it and ruined everything but he won't go back. To me it depicts how Erik destroyed their hopes and broke them completely beyond repair now. He broke Charles physically and emotionally and broke their happiness. GAWD, they make me wanna die.
