NOTE: I rendered this iPhone HD video a second time to improve the resolution so that you could enjoy these amazing day/night spectacles as close as possible to being there in person. I hope that you can tell the difference!

While driving to Hidden Hollows by myself with Shadow in her dog carrier, an amazing atmospheric spectacle unfolded in front of me, which I absolutely had to capture on video. Instead of pulling over to record the event in a stationary location, I decided to hold my iPhone out the window while driving. I think the motion and wind sound actually enhanced the experience. And, I have views of the sunset in many different locations, with moving and stationary foregrounds. After dark that same night, with crystal clear air and no moon, the stars were out in all their glory. At first, I could see Orion's Belt, the Big Dipper and many other familiar constellations, then the Milky Way raced across the night sky. As it got even darker - there is no ambient light except over the mountains in Romney - millions of stars appeared overwhelming recognizable constellations. Somehow, I had to record this star-gazing experience. So, I got out my my Nikon D7100, focused it manually at infinity, set it to to the maximum ISO 6400, manual exposure at F4 +5 @ 10 seconds, and propped the camera in Shadow's empty dog dish on a small picnic table, aiming it at the horizon and pressing the shutter release. No tripod, no mirror lock. Somehow, it captured the spectacle just as I saw it. How cool!
