German chanceller Angela Merkel and French president Nicolas Sarkozy on Thursday reached a major agreement designed to help fellow-eurozone member Greece sort out its financial troubles. The deal, being discussed tonight by all 27 EU member states, is designed to  put financial markets at ease and to help Greece deal with its high interest rates that it faces as a result of a combination of tax fraud,  Goldman Sachs-support book fudging, and poor government budget management.
