Vikings creator Michael Hirst and Martin Scorsese are developing an ancient Rome TV series. In an interview with The Guardian, Hirst revealed he is teaming up with Scorsese on a series about the rise of the Roman empire and a young Julius Caesar titled The Caesars. Hirst and Scorsese envision the show as a TV drama lasting several seasons. The show will focus heavily on Julius Caesar's experiences as a young man and ruler, which Hirst believes hasn't really been explored yet on television or film.
