This time of year many people make a commitment to living well.Over the past couple weeks, we have brought you a series of special reports on what wellness means to us. Some people want to loose weight, while others want to gain.Tammy, just wants to maintain. She says most mornings she starts with a liquid breakfast.Tammy, my mom has osteoporosis, so I always include dairy, which is not a problem because I love milk. I'm big on protein and I try to eat less fat. I drink lots of water and I make sure my last meal is no later than 6:30pm at night. Plus I exercise.Walking with the dogs doesn't have to take long, but it's a good way to increase the heart rate. Along with that, Tammy also hits the gym! Tammy, I spend some time with the weights. Nothing too heavy with lots of reps. So that's pretty much my workout so far and what I like to eat. But when I really feel like I need to burn some calories it's Zumba.Zumba involves dance and aerobic elements. The class lasts an hour and you can burn anywhere from 500 to 1,000 calories.Karen Moreno, Zumba instructor, they like the music the like the rhythm and I have a lot of people come and get motivated because of the music.Of course we weren't all born dancers or cheerleaders, good thing is, but in this class it doesn't matter!Karen, you don't have to be a good dancer. You just have to enjoy music, just shake it up and you will loose weight.Tammy says every day she just tries to eat better and move more.
