Warrants Shed Light onto Mysterious Death of T

BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. -- Warrants obtained by News 13 concerning the death of a Transylvania County man are shedding light onto the mysterious circumstances of his death.
According to warrants, Timothy Grant was already dead when he arrived at Transylvania Regional Hospital on Dec. 5
Grant's wife, Sandy Blythe, told deputies she and her husband were in a gravel parking lot off Highway 191 near the French Broad River that night, and were supposed to meet two men. Blythe says her husband didn't tell her why they were meeting the men.
Blythe tells deputies the men started arguing and tried to rob her husband. Warrants say when she stepped out of the car with a gun, one of the men took it from her and it fired, accidentally hitting her husband.
Warrants say Blythe then drove with her husband to numerous places including back to the couple's home in Pisgah Forest before taking him to hospital that night.
Grant's daughter, Tammy, says her stepmother's story leaves her with more questions than answers.
"And if they were trying to rob them, why would they be so nice to help her load him back into the car?" Tammy questioned. "That's my biggest question, really. Because as little as Sandy is, there's no way she could pick my dad back up and put him back in the car."
Grant says she just wants to find out what really happened and why it took so long for her stepmother to bring her dad to the hospital after he was shot.
