This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In this inspiring talk, Genna makes a compelling argument that "both art and science are forms of exploration" and goes on to remind us of the importance of keeping our child-like wonder. Genna Duberstein works at the intersection of art and science. As the lead multimedia producer for heliophysics at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, she works alongside scientists to bring to life data from the Sun. It takes approximately 10 hours of work to make one minute of ultra-HD footage of the Sun. This award-winning work has been aired on PBS, and featured on Vanity Fair, Wired magazine, The Atlantic and National Geographic. Genna's firm belief that "both art and science are forms of exploration" has inspired her brainchild "Solarium," an innovative piece of video art that is the visualization of a vast reservoir of data collected by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory transformed into a viewing experience is calming, joyful, soothing. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
