Zespół powstał w Pruszkowie latem 2000 roku. Soundproof reprezentuje gatunek muzyki, będący połączeniem szeroko pojętego nowoczesnego metalu, emo i hardcoru. Do jej pory formacja wydała dwie płyty demo - pierwszą w styczniu 2003 roku "Downward trend", drugą w grudniu 2004 "Soundproof". Od początku swego istnienia Soundproof zagrał wiele udanych koncertów w różnych częściach Polski m.in. Warszawa, Poznań, Malbork, Kutno, Łowicz. Zespół gościł w audycjach radiowych na falach Rock Radia "Makakofeina", Tok FM [Bez Kitu", Radia Bis "Bislista". Soundproof wystąpił również w reklamie jednego z operatorów sieci telefonii komórkowej.
