In episode 7 of The Long Dark I spend a few very cold nights in a fishing hut on Pensive Pond. I nearly get lost in a blizzard trying to find firewood but at least there was fish available for food. I found out that fishing is a pretty excellent way to get calories without spending too many. I manage to catch my first rabbit in a snare and cook him up good. After a few cold nights and near death I finally make it back to the cave that leads to the Mystery Lake Region. From there it's one night in a cave before getting back into the other side of the Carter Hydro Dam.
