Dr Mandeep Singh Bindra hosts the third show of the series, Organ Donation -- Let's make a difference, which focuses on organ donation and the Asian and Sikh communities.  

You will hear organ recipient, Anju's, heartbreaking story of how kidney failure impacted her and her family.  And learn about her joy at getting a transplant and the difference it has made to her, her husband and their three young children.  

It is hoped Anju's story of how her life has been transformed will inspire viewers to join the NHS Organ Donor Register and tell those closest to them about their donation wishes.

Did you know that members of the Asian community are more likely to need a transplant but will wait longer than the general population for a donor and they may not get the organ they need. Only around 2% of organ donors each year are Asian but the community makes up nearly a fifth of those who need a transplant. From these figures you can see that there is a major shortfall and that this is a major issue within our community.  

Members of the Sangat Trust and the Sangat Television team have worked with Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust's organ donation committee and NHS Blood and Transplant team since the start of 2013 to produce this groundbreaking series of television shows to increase awareness and change within the Asian communities.  Sangat Television urges all communities to join the NHS Organ Donor Register and tell their loved ones their wishes. There is a real need in the community for more donors. We all need to think about this matter very seriously, the more people that register -- more lives will be saved.
